Lola Ogunbote – our incredibly special guest
How lucky we were today to be in the presence of Lola Ogunbote: An international human rights lawyer; arsenal football coach’s – coach of the year; football coach in Mozambique with no electricity or hot water and needed to learn Portuguese to communicate with the locals; strong representative of her Christian faith; established a female football team in China; head of women’s football in Burnley; overcoming disability; teaching about gratitude – how Lola gives back to communities; champion of ‘Goals for girls, the leadership summit in India and South Africa’
Lola taught us that nothing is impossible we just have to work hard. @BurnleyFCWomen @WomeninFootball @EqualLancs
What a fabulous time we had with The Young Un’s – writing and recording a podcast released to the whole world about our beautiful Barton! Enjoy it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1tlh6d0hkbg
In the penultimate day of our school’s Holy Week, Jays’ class reflected on the events in the Garden of Gethsemene. Their interpretation of Matthew’s Gospel, through drama, art and music left the whole school stunned and silenced. It was beautifully poignant and powerful.

Our @Cafod Big Walk combined beautifully with @WorldBookDay today – wearing colours for kindness, reading @CharlesMackesy’s book all about kindess #theboythemolethefoxandthehorse raising funds for our global brothers and sisters #kindness
A month-long tournament of TTRS – amazing scores, we are super proud of your hard work!
Well done to all our stars this week: triathletes, footballers, runners, faith in action, English and maths! Such great work going on at school @LancsPE @Lancsteachlearn
