Garstang Colour Dash

On Sunday 22nd April, some children from Eagles class and their families took part in a fantastic running event in Garstang, in support of St John’s Hospice. We ran 5k through the village and fields and powdered paint was thrown at us at various stations. Everyone had a fabulous time and we were awarded medals at the end. Thank you so much to the families that supported this event: the Palmers, Fleets, Charnlies, Midttun-Rawals, Orrs and O’Briens. Looking forward already to our next running challenge!

Under 7’s Primary Stars Skills

Change4Life Festival

We went to West View Leisure Centre for a Change 4 Life Festival on Wednesday 24th January.  We did lots of fun enjoyable sporting activities.  This was organised by some Year 10 pupils from Ashton High School.  We worked with two schools and made good friends with them, Lea Endowed and Royal Cross (for children with hearing problems).  We really enjoyed it. Thank you for taking us Mrs Cross!

Year 3/4 Athletics Competition

Change4Life Festival

Well done to all the children attending and supporting Preston’s first Change4Life Festival at Ashton Community Science College.

Under 7’s Primary Stars Skills

Our Key Stage 1 Athletics Team were delighted to achieve this great trophy for their first place performance in the Primary Stars Skills Competition.  With the help of Chloe & Harry, our Year 6 Sports Leaders, these children had worked really hard to develop skills for the six different events. These included star passes, agility relay, catch and run, bucket ball throws, bean bag race & relay.  The children were of course delighted with their first place but are also to be commended for showing such improvement and dedication through their practices.

Preston City Indoor Games

Our Y5/6 athletics team came 1st against the small schools in Preston City Indoor Games competition, beating the 2nd place team by a whopping 62 points! Well done to the whole team for training hard and showing great sportsmanship at the event. A special thanks to Ruby Allison who stepped in at the last minute and performed superbly in all her events. The team will now represent Preston in the County Finals in Spring.

Mini Skills Competition

On Thursday 6th of October 2016 Liam, Joseph, Lucy, Jess, Rowan and Oliwia went to Mini Athletics. We faced six other small schools and we came 2nd.  In a star shape we got 103 passes in 90 seconds! We did 2 races; in the first race we had to put a beanbag in the first hoop then came back and put a beanbag in the other hoop and we came 2nd in that. The other race was the running race and luckily we came 1st.   Report by Liam and Joseph.
